My Speech

Kai Ora, Talofa Lava Im Paige and I am here to talk to you about Practicing Peaceful Play. 

Practicing Peaceful Play is about trying your hardest and being yourself. It's also about keeping it cool not actually freezing yourself in your freezer but not worrying about the little thing in your life. 

Practicing Peaceful Play is important because if it wasn't how are you able to  play peaceful with you mate and family. If there was no peace there with be anger, If there was no play there with be fighting and if there was no practicing how are you able to practice on the things you need to work on the most but because we do have practicing peaceful play we are able to work together as a team. Practicing peaceful play isn't about looking cool in front of your friends, It's about be yourself, doing things you want to do and being what you want to be. 

Practicing Peaceful Play sounds like laughter and positive conversation. It looks like people smiling and having faith in yourself. Because being someone your not or being a bully isn't fair for those kids/adults that want to work hard and have friends that care about them. Practicing Peaceful PLay is just like Rangimarie Peace not making trouble with your mates or family. Practicing Peaceful PLay is also like Manaakitangi not only caring about yourself but for the people all around you. Caring and being kind to people all over the world. Whanauntanga is also just like Practicing Peaceful Play because Practicing Peaceful PLay is all about building positive relationships with people all around us with people you care about and love. 

So what I'm trying to say is be yourself all the time and don't act like people you aren't, SO in the future you can have the life you have dreamt of and Practice Peaceful Play.

Last day of School Term 3

So on the 25 of September it was the last day of school at Tamaki Primary School.
I was very excited because we won't have school for the next 2 weeks but because we didn't have to do any learning but just have free time, watch movies and eat lollies and stuff without getting into trouble.
But before all of the happens we had to clean out the old hall a cross the field from our school because on Thursday we had an amazing Production lots of our family came and loved it but when it finish their was a lot of mess and we had to take everything back to our school that was ours.

Once the hall was all clean we went back to our classes and started to clean up our classes and put everything into the middle of the room it took us awhile but it was worth it, Just as we finish cleaning our class the lunch bell rang. I was very hungry to eat so I ate and play and talked with my friends.

After Morning Tea we went to our classes and had a talk about who wants to go to room 10 to watch The Maze Runner or have free time . Lots of the year 7 students went down to room 10 and one year 8 came to room 6 to watch Home. It was a very funny movie, we ate lots of lollies and popcorn.
My favourite part in the movie was the part when they were in the car and Tip played the music and Oh was dance very funny.

At the end of the dance we just played games ate some more and then went to our last whole school assembly for term 3. Finally the assembly was over it was time for the holidays to begin.

Smile is a book about a girl called Raina.

Raina is in sixth grade, She justed wanted to be normal like everyone else. But one night she went to a girls scout, after the girls scout she trips and falls while she was trying to having a racing with friends from her girls scout, severely injuring her two front teeth. What had been following is a long and frustrating journey with on again braces, surgery, embarrassing head gear and even fake teeth attached. And on top of all of that their was still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turned out to be not so friendly after all. Raina's story takes us from middle school to high school, where she discovers her artistic voice, finds out what true friendship really means, and where she can finally smile.

This is all based on a True story that I had readed.
This is a very cool book  after you read it and I wonder if you will like it yourself.

1. When is the sports day and how often is it?

The Niuean sports day happens once a year just after christmas.

2. What does Grass Skiing involve?

Grass skiing involves 3 people, Dry coconut pods ( the part of the coconut palm that protect the young coconuts) and a long wood or metal bar for 2 of the player can hold on each side and the last player hold onto the middle of the bar with both hands and places he or she’s feet into the coconut pods. The skier leans well back and slides over the grass.

3. How long is the grass skiing track?

The Grass Skiing track is seventy-five metres long.

4. What are the ski’s made out of and how often should they be replaced?.

Grass skiing is made out of coconut pods, and a wood or metal bar. After the grass ski’s had been use 2-3 times they must be replaced.

5. Why is stilt racing tricky?

Stilt racing is tricky because if a competitor falls down during the race, they have to lay their stilts down on the ground run in circles around them and then continue racing.

6. What is Tika Throwing.

Tika Throwing is another Niuean game that only older teenagers and adult are allowed to play. The tika, which is handmade, comes in two parts: a very long but straight shaft and a head made of toi wood. The head is lashed tightly onto the shaft so that the two pieces won’t come apart when the tika hit the ground. Skilled competitor throw the tika carefully so the it will skim along the grass after it falls from the air.

7. Describe the Tika and how it is used?

While they are playing tug of war sometimes a team sings a song to make their opponents laugh and let go of the rope.

Their are Running Races, Relay events and Stilt Racing.

The day ends with a medal ceremony, Everyone in the stadium claps and cheers when a medal is awarded.

Not all competitors get medals but everyone had fun.

Duffy Assembly Reflection

So today we had a assembly about Read.
They were both girls that goes to Tamaki College, They talked to us about how reading is very interesting like how when some people read a book that imagine them self being a character in the story or like reading the book before watching movie because when you read the book you get to know more about the characters, you get to know what they are thinking in there head
 

This is my favourite book about I really like the was how the pictures look and my favourite character will have to be James he is the main character in the story The Recruit.
