UDHR Inquiry - Paige Paraha

UDHR Inquiry
The unit is about Human Rights. It is about the individual rights, everyone person has, along with the 30
rules/laws/rights we are given, equally, made by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
I chose Article 20, because I thought of it being more interesting to learn more about, learning about
both the positive and negative actions that are related to this article. It means that everyone has equal
rights of being able to belong to a peaceful society, people around me like my friends, family, and even
myself to not be forced and/or “tricked” into doing things they don't want to do or join, such as a a gang,
group (cliques) etc. The effect it has on society, is that everyone is given the right to assembly and
association. Such as given the right to participate, or with hold a protest against anyone within reason to
make this world a better place for every individual person, but at the same time protests can be turned
down, and end up having innocent people thrown into jail.

E.g (Positive/Successful Protest)
White Ribbon is a protest that is held in New Zealand every year, against abuse caused by men toward
women. This is a very successful protest that is held.

Be given a law where protests, strikes, etc can be held in a peaceful way and/or assemblies and/or
associations, so they are given their rights, without them being breached or taken away from them.
